Generally, water-related machinery such as reciprocating vacuum pumps will have scale after using for a period of time, especially in the northwest region where the water hardness is relatively high, and the coal industry. What is this?
 
1. The working medium of the reciprocating vacuum pump mainly refers to tap water directly, and the tap water contains calcium and magnesium carbonate and hydrogencarbonate.
 
2. These deposits are attached to hot or rough surfaces, such as impellers, pipes and condensers, to form hard scale.
 
3. Under normal circumstances, such crystals may exist in water. When used as a working medium for a reciprocating vacuum pump, the water becomes supersaturated due to changes in gas pressure or temperature, and some carbonates and bicarbonates are decomposed into water-insoluble. The basic carbonate causes a precipitate.
 
4. The scale is easy to block the channel and the gap, and the joint surface of the part is fixed. The pump after scaling not only reduces the pumping rate, but also causes the power consumption to increase. When the scale almost fills the space between the blades or the intake and exhaust windows are almost filled with scale, the intake and exhaust is almost zero, and the reciprocating vacuum pump loses the vacuum.
 
For reciprocating vacuum pumps, the presence of scale is inevitable. However, after we understand the reasons for its formation, we can think of some ways to properly reduce the formation of scale, which is also conducive to the use of equipment.
